Most of my life I've tried to do things perfectly the first time. I continually berated myself for not having things perfect right away and that made it so I didn't even want to try something if I didn't think I could be the best at it. How unhelpful.
After attending Fay Wolf's seminar about imperfection at last May's NAPO Conference, I got a beautiful reality check that this mindset does nobody any good. I knew that already, but it helped to hear it from an outside perspective. If it helps you to hear it from someone else, take a minute and hear it from me. Whatever you're doing doesn't have to be perfect, and neither do you. You're awesome anyway.
